Passport to Heart Health debuts with Lifespan and American Heart Association

 

Sometimes sticking to resolutions can be an exercise in frustration. Those January vows to lose weight, exercise more and sleep better seem to fade come February.

But Lifespan and the American Heart Association are trying to make staying healthy fun with the launch of the “Passport to Heart Health” challenge.

The six-month program is available to Lifespan employees and offers them a unique opportunity to improve heart health through physical and educational activities. With the “Passport to Heart Health” challenge, Lifespan is offering its workforce the chance to engage in total wellbeing and making it’s employees healthier.

As the largest provider of health care services and the largest private employer in Rhode Island, Lifespan is committed to making this year’s resolutions stick with its holistic wellbeing strategy.

Some of the activities featured in the program include participating in a Team Lifespan Event, attending an education session around blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and getting active and joining the Global Challenge.

Participants earn 10 points for each stamp earned in the Passport to Heart Health. An official “stamper” will be present at every eligible activity offered in the passport. Participants must earn at least 100 points to be eligible for the grand prize and runner-up prizes. Prize winners will be randomly selected from the eligible entries after the conclusion of the competition on August 1, 2019.

Anyone with a Lifespan email address and is a Lifespan employee is eligible.

There are some great prizes including the grand prize of two tickets to the 2019 Heart Ball, an overnight stay in Providence, a limo for the night, and a gift certificate for a new outfit. Runners up will receive a Macy’s gift card.

There is also a photo contest Lifespan employee can take part in. Snap a photo of yourself wearing red on February 1, 2019, which is National Wear Red Day. Post the photo on social media with the hashtags #LifespanGoesRed and #snegored. One winner will receive two tickets to the Go Red for Women Luncheon on February 14, 2019. More prizes will be announced along the way!
